Riyadh: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), attended the closing ceremony of the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games held in Riyadh. His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Saudi Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, along with senior officials, guests, and invited delegations, were also present at the ceremony.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Highness commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the successful hosting and organisation of the Games. He lauded the high standard of preparation, organisation, and hospitality that reflected Saudi Arabia’s prominent position in hosting major sporting events. His Highness stated that the efforts made in Riyadh contributed to presenting the Games in a manner that showcased the Kingdom’s ability to host large international competitions.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad noted the integrated model presented by Saudi Arabia in managing the event, supported by advanced sports infrastructure and capable national professionals. He highlighted that the Games marked another organisational milestone added to Saudi Arabia’s record of achievements.
His Highness emphasised that the care, support, and facilitations provided to all delegations reflected the vision of the Saudi leadership to position Riyadh as a global sports destination and a hub for hosting continental and international events to the highest standards. His Highness wished the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continued success.
