HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Meets International Council of Arbitration for Sports Acting President

Manama: His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), welcomed Michael Lenard, Acting President of the International Council of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS), along with a delegation during their visit to Bahrain. The delegation included Matthieu Reeb, Director General of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), and Dr. Abdullah Al Hayyan, Board Member of the CAS. The meeting also saw the presence of Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the BOC, and Professor Marike Paulsson, Secretary General for the Council for International Dispute Resolution of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali extended greetings from His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the BOC. He praised the positive collaboration between the BOC and ICAS, highlighting the Council's pivotal role in supporting sports governance and maintaining justice and integrity in the global sports movement.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali stressed the significance of strengthening legal and sports partnerships to enhance the sports work environment. He underscored the importance of protecting the rights of athletes and sports institutions by adhering to the highest international standards.

Furthermore, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali acknowledged ICAS's efforts in fostering justice and transparency in international sports. He highlighted the Council's crucial role in resolving sports disputes, which is vital for safeguarding the sports system and ensuring its smooth functioning in line with global best practices. His Highness expressed his wishes for the Council's continued progress and success.
