Manama: His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club's (REHC) High Committee, and Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, attended the launch of the 'Eid Al Fitr' festival, organised by the REHC in line with Eid Al Fitr celebrations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the festival is being held as part of the 26th and 27th races of the 2024-2025 racing season, taking place on Thursday and Friday, April 3 and 4. The 'Eid Al Fitr' festival was enjoyed by a large number of audience and horseracing fans, combining the joy of Eid with the entertainment of the events. The racecourse saw a competitive atmosphere with strong rivalry between elite horses.
During the festival, His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received the REHC Cup from Yusuf Osama Buheji, CEO of REHC. Additionally, Shaikh Salman bin Rashid Al Khalifa presented the Late Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Cup to His Highness Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa. Zayed Rashid Al Zayani, Chairman of Al Zayani Investments Group, presented the Majid Rashid Al Zayani Cup to the winning owner Ebrahim Al Afoo.
The 'Eid Al Fitr' festival competitions will continue in the 27th race, scheduled for Friday, April 4, 2025. The racing evening will feature eight rounds, including the Late Mr. Abdulla Ahmed Nass Cup, the Applied Science University Cup, the Sarens Nass Cup, and the Royal Golf Club Cup. The 26th race witnessed strong competitions for the Late Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Cup, the Majid Rashid Al Zayani Cup, and the REHC Cup.
