Doha: His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, received a telephone call from US President Donald Trump, during which they discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, the Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the call reviewed regional and international efforts aimed at reducing escalation and enhancing stability in light of ongoing political and security developments in the region. His Highness the Amir emphasized the importance of prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions and dialogue between all parties to support regional security and stability and prevent further escalation.
President Trump expressed appreciation for Qatar's role in supporting Pakistani mediation efforts and strengthening communication channels between the parties, commending its efforts to advance de-escalation in the region. The call also addressed strategic relations between the State of Qatar and the United States and means to further enhance bilateral cooperation in support of the shared interests of the two countries.
