Manama: The Ministry of Information has announced the launch of the second edition of the Heritage Village Evenings festival, set to take place during the holy month of Ramadhan 2026. The festival promises a rich array of cultural, heritage, and entertainment activities designed for families and visitors.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the festival will feature a special celebration for Gergaon, aligning with the Kingdom's traditional observance of this occasion. Scheduled to run over four consecutive days from Tuesday, March 3 to Friday, March 6, the Heritage Village will welcome the public daily from 9:00 pm until 1:00 am.
This year's program includes an array of activities, such as the distribution of Gergaon within village houses, daily performances by folk arts groups, and entertainment specifically geared towards children. The event aims to offer an integrated cultural and tourism experience that showcases Bahrain's folk heritage, reinforcing its values among different generations.
Additionally, the festival will introduce the children's character "Baba Yaseen," who will engage young audiences with interactive segments. The festival's heritage themes and activities will also receive media coverage through the programme "Al Sariyah," broadcast on Bahrain TV during Ramadhan.
A carnival zone has been designated, featuring entertainment corners suitable for all age groups in a festive atmosphere that embodies the spirit of Ramadhan. Numerous restaurants and caf©s will participate, providing a variety of Ramadan food and beverages.
The Ministry of Information hopes that the festival will be well-received by the public, contributing to the revival of traditional Ramadhan festivities and strengthening community ties. The event seeks to further establish the Heritage Village as a national landmark that embodies the authenticity of Bahraini identity and supports cultural and tourism activities in the Kingdom.
