Manama: Dr. Lulwa Rashid Showaiter, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health, chaired the 102nd meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council Health Council Executive Board, held via video conference. The meeting was held as part of the Kingdom of Bahrain's presidency of the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council session.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Showaiter emphasised the importance of strengthening health integration and coordination among GCC countries as a key pillar of regional health security. She highlighted the value of such meetings in reinforcing close cooperation and a shared approach to tackling current challenges, noting the progress achieved, particularly in the health sector.
Members reviewed agenda items, including the status of public health emergencies and supply chains in light of Iranian attacks, to support coordinated health efforts and inform decision-making, alongside other topics aimed at advancing GCC health cooperation.
