Health Ministry and iGA Collaborate with WHO for National Health Survey Workshop

Manama: The National Health Survey Committee, comprising the Ministry of Health and the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), organized a training workshop focused on 'Data Analysis Methods' in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO).

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Samya Bahram, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health at the Ministry of Health, stated that the National Health Survey is a crucial tool for monitoring the health status in the Kingdom. It provides a precise database that aids in the development of health services and policies. She expressed her appreciation to the WHO for its technical support during the workshop.

Duaa Sultan Mohammed, Deputy Chief Executive of Statistics and Population Registry at the iGA, emphasized the significance of such workshops in enhancing national staff capabilities and improving the effectiveness of implementing and analyzing health survey results.

The workshop was led by Dr. Iman Abdulkareem, an expert from the WHO. It aimed at strengthening the national teams' ability to analyze data from the 2024 National Health Survey. The training incorporated the latest globally recognized methodologies and approaches, reviewed survey implementation procedures to align with WHO standards, and included a presentation of preliminary statistical results. Discussions also covered upcoming analysis steps and future phases of the project.

The third National Health Survey, which commenced in October 2024, targets over 4,000 households across the Kingdom's governorates. It is part of ongoing efforts to build a comprehensive health database supporting Bahrain's healthcare development plans and initiatives.
