Health Minister Receives WHO Acting Representative in Bahrain


Manama: Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, received Dr. Asad Hafeez, Acting Representative of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Head of the WHO Country Office. The minister highlighted the depth of the strategic partnership and close cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the WHO, which has resulted in initiatives that strengthened the national healthcare system and enhanced its efficiency, particularly in epidemiological surveillance, emergency preparedness, and workforce development.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister emphasized that this partnership serves as a key platform for exchanging expertise and adopting international best practices that support the achievement of sustainable health development goals. The meeting discussed several joint initiatives and projects, including documenting Bahrain’s public health achievements, participation in the Bahrain International Public Health Conference, and strengthening cooperation in training and emergency preparedness. These discussions reflected the shared commitment to aligning national and international health efforts.



Dr. Hafeez expressed appreciation to the minister and ministry officials for their ongoing cooperation in implementing joint health programmes. He noted the WHO’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Kingdom of Bahrain across all areas of healthcare.
