Manama: Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, met Colonel Dr. Manaf Mohammed Al Qahtani, Chief Executive Officer of the Gulf Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, to discuss strengthening regional cooperation in public health. The minister highlighted the centre's key role in reinforcing public health systems across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), supporting coordinated responses to health challenges, and advancing preventive healthcare through joint policies and initiatives that contribute to sustainable health outcomes across the region.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting reviewed GCC health initiatives aimed at promoting public health and discussed the centre's strategic priorities for the next phase, with a focus on aligning future programmes with regional health priorities and enhancing cooperation among GCC member states in disease prevention and control.
Colonel Dr. Al Qahtani praised Bahrain's continued investment in developing its healthcare sector and its support for joint Gulf health initiatives. He affirmed the centre's commitment to expanding cooperation with health authorities across the GCC to advance shared strategic objectives and strengthen regional health preparedness.
