Manama: Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, chaired the meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council health ministers, held via video conference. The meeting was attended by Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Health Minister emphasised the importance of continued coordination and cooperation among GCC states to strengthen the Gulf health and pharmaceutical security system. This includes ensuring the sustained availability of medicines and medical supplies and enhancing preparedness to address future challenges and crises.
Dr. Hassan also highlighted the significance of advancing joint Gulf efforts to develop a unified strategic stockpiling system. This initiative aims to support health and pharmaceutical security and enhance the ability of GCC states to respond effectively to various challenges.
The meeting also covered topics on its agenda, including the outcomes of the 19th consultative meeting of the GCC leaders, which took place in April in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
