Head of the Euphrates Movement bloc calls for an economic boycott against Sweden following the incident of burning a copy of the Holy Quran

The Head of the Euphrates Movement bloc representing Maysan Governorate, “Ruqayyah Al-Nouri”, called on the government to boycott Sweden economically, following the Swedish government’s allowing a person to burn a copy of the Holy Quran.

Al-Nouri said in a press statement: “The government’s position against burning the Holy Qur’an is a professional and political position, adding that one of the most important measures is to summon the Swedish Ambassador and send a strongly worded message and boycott Sweden economically.”

She indicated that the government was not satisfied with statements of condemnation, but Al-Sudani called on friendly countries to put pressure on those who offend Islam and their beliefs of extremism and punish its perpetrators.

She continued: “We believe that one of the most important measures, in our opinion, is for the government and parliament to move diplomatically, summon the Ambassador, and send a strongly worded message, as well as boycott Sweden economically and not deal with it in this aspect.”
