Head of Kuwait’s AI association calls for keeping AI within moral norms

Chairperson of Kuwait’s Artificial Intelligence of Things Association Sheikh Mohammad Al-Sabah on Sunday underlined the necessity to regulate artificial intelligence in line with moral and humanitarian norms and human rights.

Sheikh Mohammad was speaking to KUNA after partaking in the 23rd regular session of the permanent independent Human Rights Commission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation — addressing in today’s session the effects of AI on human rights.

He urged all parties, organizations and researchers involved in the field to prioritize moral consideration, and harness AI for boosting security stability and peace for nations around the globe.

The Kuwaiti association presented, during the session, a paper on the AI impact on human rights, citing as an example of the Israeli occupation’s employment of the technology in the aggression on Gaza Strip and recurring breaches of the Gazans’ rights.
