The head of Azm Alliance, MP Muthanna Al-Samarrai, confirmed today, Thursday, that the old political class is responsible for all the “suffering and tragedy.”
Al-Samarrai said during a tribal and popular gathering in Salah al-Din Governorate, “It is important for our public to realize the difference between the mere presence of their representatives in Parliament, and the presence of leaders who participate in political decision-making in the capital and Salah al-Din Governorate, and for the first time they are represented in decision-making in Baghdad.”
He stated that "the political despair that exists among the ranks of our public did not come out of nowhere, but rather came as a result of an accumulation of mistakes committed by former component politicians who did not realize at the time the consequences resulting from those mistakes."
He added, "One of the consequences of the mistakes of the past is the weak participation of our people in the elections and their indifference to being in places where their fate, lifestyle, and natural rights are decided that the central and local governments must provide for them. Also, the old political class and the former representatives of Salah al-Din Governorate are responsible for all the suffering and tragedy that the governorate lived it and is still living it.”
The head of Azm Alliance stressed that “there is no way to change the service and living reality in Salah al-Din and its districts except by active participation in the governorate council elections, and your coming in with your true weight will be the starting point towards changing the reality of your life in the governorate, since it has been 10 years and the people of Salah al-Din are far from the center of decision-making in the governorate.” Today, this representation is available to you, in addition to choosing the governor, the head of the governorate council, and the rest of the leadership positions in the governorate. Indeed, no one should be chosen except by your decision and your votes.”
He continued, "We will not allow anyone from outside our governorate to weaken our children or exclude them from the decision-making position in favor of competitors in Baghdad who seek to remove them from the decision-making position."
