Manama: His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council, congratulated the Bahrain National Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF) on their outstanding achievement at the 10th IMMAF World Championships for Youth and Seniors, held in Uzbekistan in cooperation with Team Bahrain. The Bahrain team ranked first among Arab nations, securing two world titles, a silver medal, and a bronze medal in the senior category, marking a significant accomplishment in the sport and enhancing Bahrain's profile on the global stage. According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Salman expressed pride in the global achievement of the national mixed martial arts team, which placed first among Arab teams and fifth overall. The team won world titles in the 88.4 kg and 79.4 kg categories, a silver in the 56.7 kg category, and a bronze in the over 97 kg category. His Highness also congratulated Mohammed Ali Qambar, Member of the IMM AF and President of the BMMAF, for effectively preparing the team to achieve such notable success. HH Shaikh Salman further commended the performance of all team members and emphasised the efforts of the coaching and administrative staff in preparing the athletes for this competition, which adds to the growing list of accomplishments in Bahrain's mixed martial arts. Qambar congratulated HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports; and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, on this significant accomplishment. The 10th IMMAF World Championships, organised in cooperation with Team Bahrain, concluded in Tashkent. This year's tournament showcased exceptional organisation, led by Team Bahrain under Mohammed Ali Qambar, with members inclu ding Yaman Abdullah, Rashid Mujairan, Hassan Ahmed, Salman Al Thawadi, Abdullah Al Qasimi, Mariam Faisal, and Noor Al Hammadi. Officials Brayer Ali, Sharifa Al Nawakhda, and Mohammed Al Samahiji, along with medics Nawaf Al Balooshi, Hassan Osama, and Salman Afshani, ensured smooth proceedings.
