GSA CEO Engages with Athletes Benefiting from Educational Initiative

Manama:GSA Headquarters: Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the General Sports Authority (GSA), welcomed athletes benefiting from the Khalid bin Hamad Seat for Golden Generation initiative, which provides educational opportunities in Bahrain. The meeting, held at the GSA headquarters, included authority officials and the athletes' parents.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Askar conveyed messages of support and encouragement from His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to the athletes, wishing them success in their sporting and academic endeavors. The initiative recognizes the athletes' achievements and aims to support their higher education pursuits in fields aligning with their interests.

Dr. Askar praised the collaboration with public and private universities participating in the initiative, noting their role in preparing a promising generation of athletes. This cooperation helps athletes balance their academic and sporting commitments, fostering excellence in both areas.

The initiative, running for the third year, has provided 24 educational opportunities across 10 universities, benefiting athletes from seven sports federations. It aims to facilitate athletes' enrollment in higher education, balancing studies with training and competitions, and easing educational costs for families.

Athletes and parents expressed gratitude to His Highness and the GSA for their support, acknowledging how these opportunities alleviate financial burdens and support athletes' academic and sporting ambitions.
