Grand Imam of Al Azhar Welcomes Secretary General of Muslim Council of Elders

Cairo: His Eminence Professor Dr. Ahmed Al Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar, recently welcomed Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders, at the Al Azhar headquarters. The meeting highlighted mutual respect and collaboration between the two esteemed leaders in the promotion of human fraternity across regional and global levels.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Grand Imam expressed his appreciation for Judge Abdelsalam's unwavering dedication to Al Azhar, particularly during critical periods. Dr. Al Tayyeb acknowledged Abdelsalam's efforts through his various leadership roles and initiatives, which have significantly contributed to advocating for peace and the preservation of Islamic principles.

Judge Abdelsalam, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to visit Al Azhar headquarters, reflecting on his decade-long tenure as an advisor to the Grand Imam. He praised the Grand Imam's commitment to serving Islam, the nation, and humanity, emphasizing his dedication to peace, truth, and the preservation of Islamic law and the Arabic language.

Furthermore, Judge Abdelsalam recognized the Grand Imam's significant global influence in advocating for Islamic causes and strengthening Egypt's religious leadership. He noted Al Azhar's transformation under Dr. Al Tayyeb's leadership, which has enhanced its global role in disseminating Islam's moderate message and garnered widespread recognition for his principled stance on key issues.

Judge Abdelsalam also expressed enthusiasm for the Grand Imam's announcement that Egypt will host the second edition of the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference at Al Azhar next year. Following the success of the first edition in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Grand Imam has instructed the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Association to commence preparations for the event, further solidifying Egypt's leadership in uniting the Ummah.
