Manama: The Government Hospitals participated in the event organised by the Ministry of Interior to mark the 2025 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, attended by members of the National Committee for Combating Drugs and representatives from relevant ministries and institutions.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Rajaa Sayed Hassan Al Yusuf, Deputy Chief Executive of the Government Hospitals, underscored the hospitals' continued commitment as an active partner in supporting the work of the National Committee for Combating Drugs. She noted that Government Hospitals will continue contributing to national efforts to build a drug-free society by strengthening treatment and support programmes in line with the National Anti-Drug Strategy.
As part of the accompanying awareness exhibition, Government Hospitals showcased key services in prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. This included highlighting health programmes for individuals in recovery, such as those provided by the Psychiatric Hospital and the Almoayyed Rehabilitation Unit, along with artwork created by recovering patients.
Government Hospitals also presented a comprehensive awareness session covering early detection mechanisms, psychological and social treatment approaches, and community-based prevention methods. The presentation reflected the integration of health and security efforts in addressing drug-related issues and reaffirmed the hospitals' role in supporting national initiatives and raising public awareness.
