Manama: Government Hospitals Administration have launched 24-hour operations at the Hereditary Blood Disorders Centre (HBDC) at Salmaniya Medical Complex to enhance care for sickle cell anaemia patients. Dr. Maryam Athbi Al Jalahma, CEO of Government Hospitals, highlighted that round-the-clock service will improve emergency response times and reduce waiting periods, ensuring high-quality, efficient care that meets community needs.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this initiative reflects the hospitals' commitment to providing integrated, sustainable healthcare, particularly for patients requiring urgent attention. Zakaria Ibrahim Al Kazem, Chairman of the Bahrain Sickle Cell Society, expressed appreciation for the move, noting it significantly advances healthcare standards and demonstrates ongoing support for those affected by sickle cell anaemia.
