Global Food Security Summit Highlights Bahrain-UAE Cooperation

Abu Dhabi:Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Bahrain's Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, attended Global Food Week 2026 and the 12th Abu Dhabi International Date Palm Exhibition at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi. The events were held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President, and Deputy Prime Minister.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Mubarak emphasized the strong ties between Bahrain and the UAE, supported by the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He also noted the ongoing guidance from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Minister Al Mubarak highlighted the summit's role in boosting international cooperation on food security, offering a platform to exchange expertise, review challenges, and explore sustainable food systems. He stressed the need for regional and international collaboration, adoption of modern technologies, and investment in the agricultural and food sectors to enhance food security and supply chain sustainability.

He also remarked on the significance of Global Food Week as a venue for officials, experts, and investors worldwide, promoting partnerships, knowledge exchange, and modern solutions for a sustainable food sector future. Furthermore, the Abu Dhabi International Date Palm Exhibition was recognized for its role in advancing agricultural production through innovation in the date palm sector.

Minister Al Mubarak expressed gratitude to the UAE, the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation, and the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation for their invitation and hospitality. He applauded the events for fostering expertise exchange and showcasing the latest technologies in food security and agriculture.
