Accra: Ghana officially qualified for the 2026 World Cup hosted by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), after beating Comoros 1-0 in the final round of the African qualifiers that took place on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Mohammed Kudus scored the only goal in the 47th minute, giving Ghana the top spot in Group J with 25 points and earning their fifth World Cup appearance, the Ghana News Agency (GNA) reported.
This qualification comes after Ghana missed the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations. African qualifiers feature 54 teams, with group winners advancing directly and the best runners-up entering the play-offs.
