Manama: Henning Georg Simon, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bahrain, conducted a field visit to several housing projects in Salman City, accompanied by Fatima Ibrahim Al Mannai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, and other officials, to learn about Bahrain's social housing initiatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the visit began at the Salman City Visitors Centre, where the Ambassador was briefed on Bahrain's housing and urban planning experience dating back to the 1960s. The briefing highlighted the evolution of policies aimed at meeting citizens' needs and supporting sustainable development.
The delegation toured the Al Naseem project, which is part of the Government Land Rights Development Programme in partnership with the private sector. They learned about its components and the collaborative approach adopted in delivering innovative, sustainable housing solutions.
The Ambassador also visited next-generation residential buildings designed to enhance urban quality and provide modern living environments for Bahraini families. He received information on the Ministry's plans for future cities, featuring integrated infrastructure, modern services, and financing programmes offered with the Eskan Bank to provide diverse housing options.
On his part, the Ambassador highlighted Bahrain's progress in housing and urban planning. He commended the projects' design quality and their environmental and social sustainability, expressing Germany's interest in further cooperation and experience-sharing in the sector.
