Manama: Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to discuss strategic ties between the GCC and Central Asian countries and preparations for the second summit GCC-Central Asia Summit.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting reviewed means to develop and strengthen Gulf-Uzbek ties, in addition to discussing economic proposals aimed at enhancing investment and economic cooperation between the two sides.
Al Budaiwi and Minister Saidov exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the recent Iranian attacks on GCC states. The Secretary-General expressed appreciation to the Minister for his country's positions in support of GCC states since the beginning of the attacks.
Both sides underlined the importance of intensifying joint efforts to strengthen security and stability in the region and the world.
