GCC Secretary General Highlights Bahrain’s Role in Advancing Gulf Cooperation

Manama: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stated that Bahrain's hosting of the 46th session of the GCC Supreme Council highlights the Kingdom's pivotal role in promoting joint Gulf cooperation. The event underscores Bahrain's commitment to supporting the progress of the GCC's collective efforts.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Albudaiwi expressed his appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their ongoing support to the GCC. He emphasized the Secretariat General's anticipation of Bahrain's upcoming presidency and expressed confidence in the Kingdom's ability to lead the next phase effectively.

Albudaiwi mentioned the significance of the 46th Gulf Summit, noting its focus on crucial topics that impact the lives of GCC citizens. The agenda includes strategic issues related to security, the economy, and sustainable development.

He also highlighted the GCC Pavilion at the Bahrain National Museum, which showcases the Council's journey, its development phases, and achievements across various sectors such as military, economic, trade, education, and health. The pavilion features interactive displays that offer visitors a comprehensive understanding of Gulf integration.

The Secretary General encouraged citizens and residents in Bahrain to visit the pavilion to learn about the GCC's history and accomplishments. He noted that this initiative demonstrates the Council's commitment to involving the community in its developmental journey.
