GCC Secretary-General Condemns Iranian Missile Attacks on GCC and Jordan

Manama: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) condemned in the strongest terms the malicious and blatant missile attacks targeting the territories of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, describing them as a flagrant violation of their sovereignty.

According to Bahrain News Agency, in a statement, the GCC Secretary-General emphasized the full solidarity of GCC member states, noting that they stand united in confronting these attacks and place all their capabilities at the disposal of the affected countries to support any measures taken to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and national interests. He added that the attacked countries retain their right to respond and defend themselves in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter.

The Secretary-General warned of the grave consequences of this unjustified escalation, which he said threatens regional security and stability. He stressed that GCC states have consistently advocated for the preservation of peace, security, and stability in the region for the benefit of its peoples.

Albudaiwi underscored that targeting the territories of GCC states contravenes international law, the United Nations Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness, and cannot be accepted under any justification or pretext. He called on Iran to immediately cease any escalatory actions that would undermine regional security and stability.
