GCC Secretary General Attends Opening of Gulf Accreditation Office Branch in Oman

Muscat: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), attended the opening of a branch of the Gulf Accreditation Office in Muscat, the Sultanate of Oman, on April 27. The event was held under the patronage of the Secretary General, with the attendance of Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman, and several officials.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Albudaiwi emphasised that the opening of the new branch contributes to enhancing the quality infrastructure across GCC member states and supports the international recognition of Gulf competencies. He highlighted the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to promoting joint Gulf action and advancing cooperation in various fields.

He noted that the opening reflects the directives of Oman's wise leadership in supporting the unified Gulf vision, aimed at strengthening the accreditation system and raising standards across the economic, industrial, health, and educational sectors.

Albudaiwi added that the new branch will contribute to achieving greater Gulf integration, strengthening regional and international standing, enhancing cooperation among member states, developing standards application, evaluation, and product control, and supporting the growth of Gulf industry and the economy.
