Manama: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, welcomed the announcement by President Ahmed Al Sharaa, President of the Syrian Arab Republic, on reaching a new agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and the provisions on enhancing and preserving security and stability in Syria, as well as its unity and territorial sovereignty.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Albudaiwi highlighted the content of the final statement issued by the Supreme Council of the GCC at its 46th session, which stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, and that Syria's security and stability are a fundamental pillar of regional security.
He concluded by wishing Syria and its people continued security and stability, and further progress and prosperity.
