GCC Petroleum Cooperation Committee Convenes in Bahrain

Manama:Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dinah, the Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, led the 37th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Petroleum Cooperation Committee Meeting in Bahrain. The session was attended by energy ministers from GCC countries and Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Bin Dinah highlighted the significance of hosting the meeting in Bahrain as a demonstration of the strong ties and leadership support among GCC nations, particularly in the oil and energy sectors.

The Minister emphasized the vital role of the oil and energy sector in the GCC for global energy security and market stability. He called for ongoing coordination and policy alignment to address economic, technological, and geopolitical changes, while ensuring energy supply security and market stability.

He also noted the continued efforts of GCC countries to innovate and adopt modern, clean technologies in the energy sector. This effort aims to balance economic growth with sustainable development and environmental considerations, enhancing the sector's competitiveness and resilience.

Key topics discussed at the meeting included advancements in the energy strategy, energy security, a fair energy transition, the regional emergency plan for petroleum products, and the impact of European legislation and cross-border measures on the energy sector. Trade and foreign trade issues were also addressed.
