GCC Partners with The Hague Academy for Training on Legal and Economic Integration

Manama: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and Dr. Jean-Marc Thouvenin, Secretary General of The Hague Academy of International Law, signed a training agreement. The agreement provides for the organisation of an intensive training programme in November entitled "Economic Aspects in the Integration and Interconnection of Justice, Legislation, and Judiciary."

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Secretary General highlighted that this marks the first cooperation of its kind between the GCC General Secretariat and The Hague Academy. He commended the Academy as a renowned educational and research institution in the field of international law, with a distinguished record in delivering specialised academic and training programmes across various legal disciplines, and in fostering dialogue among diverse legal cultures and systems.

Albudaiwi noted that the training programme is designed for professionals from the Ministries of Economy, Planning, and Justice, as well as Fatwa and Legislation departments across GCC countries. It aims to provide insights into the legal and economic integration experiences of regional blocs such as the European Union, African Union, ASEAN, and Latin American countries. The sessions will be delivered by leading academic experts from internationally recognised universities.
