GCC chief lambasts Israeli occupation’s decision to expand settlements

GCC Secretary General Jassem Al-Budaiwi on Saturday strongly condemned the decision by the ministerial council of the Israeli occupation to expand settlements in the West Bank.

The GCC secretary general expressed in a statement emphatic rejection of the ongoing and systematic occupation’s breaches of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy, warning that such a policy would lead to regional insecurity and instability.

He re-affirmed the GCC’s unwavering stand of supporting the Palestinian cause for reaching a solution based on ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with the 1967 borders.

The so-called Israeli cabinet approved on Friday a scheme to “legitimize” five settlement outposts in the West Bank and expand existing settlements.
