GCC and Jordan Envoys Engage with Turkish Parliamentary Speaker

Ankara: The Ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan accredited to the Republic of Trkiye convened with Professor Numan Kurtulmus, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Trkiye, at the Assembly's headquarters in Ankara. Ambassador Bassam Ahmed Marzooq, representing the Kingdom of Bahrain, chaired the meeting in line with Bahrain's current presidency of the 46th session of the GCC.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing the latest developments in the region, particularly concerning the ongoing Iranian attacks targeting GCC countries and Jordan. The discussions emphasized the implications these attacks have on regional peace and stability. The ambassadors underscored the indivisible nature of GCC security, highlighting that the stability and security of their peoples are essential components of regional safety.

The gathering also examined the impact of Iranian attacks on civilian facilities, public service infrastructure, and residential zones, which have resulted in significant loss of life and property damage. Additionally, discussions touched upon developments in the Strait of Hormuz and their effects on freedom of navigation and international maritime security.

Participants explored avenues to enhance parliamentary cooperation between the GCC countries and the Republic of Trkiye, aiming to strengthen the ties of their shared relations.
