Friday Imam of Najaf: The Religious Authority had the main role in the fatwa of sufficient defense

The Imam of the Friday Prayers of Najaf, Sadr al-Din al-Qabanji, said that “the Religious Authority had the main role in the fatwa of sufficient defense.

This came in the Friday prayer sermon that was delivered today in Najaf al-Ashraf. Al-Qabanji said, “We are on the anniversary of the fatwa of sufficient defense, this fatwa in which the religious authority had a fundamental role, then the role of the people in it. Here we must honor the martyrs and reach out to the orphans, the wounded, and the families of the martyrs. These people played an important role in eliminating ISIS, as the global plan was to overthrow Iraq, the region, and the entire Islamic world.

Al-Qabanji called for expediting the law of sanctity for the city of Najaf, and said, “The province of Najaf is experiencing some immoral problems that require legal accountability. Here we demand that the Najaf Provincial Council expedite the approval of the law of sanctity of Najaf al-Ashraf so that the security services can follow up on these pra
ctices and hold their perpetrators accountable.
