Amman: The fourth edition of the Ministry of Interior ATP Challenger Tennis Championship began today with exciting matches. Russian Marat Sharipov won his opening match against Egypt's Karim Maamoun 7-5, 6-2, while Italy's Alberto Brozentti defeated Germany's Justin Engel 6-1, 6-4. According to Bahrain News Agency, the most thrilling match saw Colin Sinclair of the Northern Mariana Islands come from behind to beat Dutch player Ryan Nijboer 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Meanwhile, Bahrain's Yusuf Qaed lost to Bulgaria's Dimitar Kuzmanov 6-0, 6-1, and Elyas Abduljaleel was defeated 6-2, 6-3 by Russian Petr Bar Biryukov. Egypt's Fares Zakaria triumphed over Germany's Patrick Zahraj 6-2, 6-3, and Georgia's Aleksandre Bakshi won against Japan's Kaichi Uchida 6-1, 6-4. Ukrainian Vitaliy Sachko beat Ireland's Peter Baldini 6-3, 6-3, while German Lucas Gerch overcame Ireland's Samir Hamza Reguig 6-2, 6-4.
