Foreign Ministry: We Hope Broader Cooperation From Turkey, For Iraq to Obtain a Fair Share of Water

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its hope for wider cooperation by the Turkish authorities in order for Iraq to obtain a fair share of water.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Legal Affairs, Omar Al-Barzanji, received the Turkish Ambassador, Ali Riza Güney.

According to the statement, the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs stressed during the meeting the need for Turkey to give the issue of Iraq's water quotas utmost importance, expressing his hope for wider cooperation by the Turkish authorities in order for Iraq to obtain a fair share of water.

For his part, the Turkish ambassador affirmed that his country is looking forward to increasing cooperation with Iraq in many fields, especially in the economic field and the field of combating terrorism.
