Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a phone call from Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman. During the call, the two sides reviewed the close relations between the two countries and explored ways to further develop them.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministers discussed aspects of joint coordination and consultation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman, particularly in light of Bahrain's non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council. The dialogue highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing international and regional challenges.
The conversation also covered the latest regional developments and ongoing efforts to restore maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Both ministers emphasized the need to safeguard the security and safety of waterways in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. This initiative aims to protect the interests of the countries in the region as well as the wider international community. Additionally, the ministers exchanged views on issues and matters of mutual interest, reflecting a shared commitment to regional stability and cooperation.
