Manama: Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a telephone call from Giorgos Gerapetritis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic. Both ministers discussed the longstanding ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Greece, exploring means to expand bilateral co-operation and enhance the existing partnership to serve mutual interests.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the call also addressed regional developments, specifically the repercussions of Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz to international navigation and its impact on global energy security, food supplies, and world trade. Furthermore, the two ministers exchanged views on joint co-ordination through their countries' current memberships in the UN Security Council, particularly during the Kingdom's presidency of the Council for the month of April, to maintain international peace and security.
