Foreign Ministers of Bahrain and Egypt Discuss Regional Security Concerns

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a phone call from Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt. During the call, the two ministers reviewed the deep-rooted relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and explored avenues to further strengthen coordination and expand cooperation in a manner that serves common interests.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion also addressed the repercussions of the Iranian attacks involving ballistic missiles and drones targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, and the resulting loss of life and property. Both sides underscored the unity of Arab national security and noted Egypt's solidarity with Bahrain and the GCC countries, as well as its support for measures undertaken to safeguard their security and stability and to protect citizens and residents.

The two ministers discussed prospects for enhanced coordination in light of preparations for the forthcoming meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level. The meeting is expected to address the risks posed by Iranian attacks on GCC countries and their implications for regional security and stability, as well as international navigation in the Gulf.
