Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in a telephone conversation with Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministers examined the current regional situation, focusing on the Iranian missile strikes that have been targeting infrastructure and civilian facilities in Bahrain and other nations within the Gulf Cooperation Council. The dialogue also explored opportunities for cooperation and joint efforts between Bahrain and Egypt, particularly concerning Bahrain's upcoming non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council for the 2026-2027 term. Emphasis was placed on the necessity for ongoing discussions to gather international backing on regional and international matters being addressed by the Council, with a specific emphasis on the Iranian assaults on Gulf Cooperation Council nations.
Additionally, the conversation included an exchange of perspectives on various topics of shared interest between the two countries.
