Foreign Ministers of Bahrain and Azerbaijan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain with an accompanying delegation. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation across various sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani emphasized the robust relationship between Bahrain and Azerbaijan, highlighting the continuous progress of bilateral cooperation. He pointed out the joint efforts aimed at expanding collaboration and seizing available opportunities that would benefit both countries and their peoples.

Bayramov, on his part, expressed his delight at visiting Bahrain for the first time. He underscored the commitment of both leaderships to advancing bilateral relations through the exchange of visits and expertise. He stressed the significance of boosting cooperation in economic, trade, and development sectors that are of mutual interest.

The two ministers reviewed the ongoing development of bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance cooperation, particularly in economic, trade, and investment sectors, as well as in financial technology, ICT, and tourism. They also discussed the importance of official visits and the advancement of diplomatic coordination between their ministries in international forums.

Regional and international issues were also on the agenda, including conflicts impacting regional security and global peace. The ministers reviewed diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, deliver humanitarian assistance, and support peace initiatives in the region. They exchanged views on key regional and global challenges and issues of mutual concern.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Khaled Yousef Al Jalahma, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Shaikh Abdulla bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations; and Muneera Nofal Al Doseri, Chief of the Asia and Pacific Affairs Sector. From the Azerbaijani side, Shahin Abdullayev, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bahrain, resident in Riyadh, and the accompanying delegation were present.
