Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Salah Khaled, UNESCO Representative to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Republic of Yemen, and Director of UNESCO Doha Office, at the Ministry's headquarters. During the meeting, Salah Khaled presented his letter of credentials to the minister.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani congratulated Khaled on his appointment and emphasized Bahrain's commitment to strengthening cooperation with UNESCO in culture, education, and science. This collaboration aims to support international efforts to promote sustainable development and protect human heritage.
The UNESCO representative expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and expressed his eagerness to enhance cooperation and coordination between UNESCO and the Kingdom of Bahrain. He highlighted the importance of areas of mutual interest to achieve shared objectives. Hatem Abdulhameed Hatem, Chief of Organisations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was also present at the meeting.
