Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, commended the success of the 21st IISS Manama Dialogue 2025 in reinforcing the Kingdom of Bahrain's position as a leading international platform for dialogue, understanding, and partnership in promoting security, stability, and sustainable development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister highlighted that this aligns with the diplomatic approach of the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and Prime Minister.
The Minister valued the participation of Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, who inaugurated the forum on behalf of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted that HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad's address underscored Bahrain's commitment, under the royal vision, to strengthening international cooperation, building strategic partnerships, and exchanging perspectives to enhance global security, peace, and sustainable development.
Dr. Al Zayani expressed his appreciation for the constructive cooperation with the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) and national entities in organising the Manama Dialogue, which for over two decades has served as a strategic platform bringing together leaders, decision-makers, and experts in diplomacy, politics, security, and defence to promote dialogue, mutual understanding, and global solidarity in addressing shared challenges.
Dr. Al Zayani also noted that this year's forum coincided with Bahrain's election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2026-2027 term and its upcoming presidency of the GCC Summit, a testament to international confidence in the Kingdom's foreign policy and diplomatic leadership. He emphasized Bahrain's commitment to supporting efforts to uphold the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, provide humanitarian aid, and advance international cooperation for reconstruction, in line with the outcomes of the Sharm El Sheikh Summit for Peace, while backing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state based on the two-state solution, as a foundation for lasting regional peace and stability.
Dr. Al Zayani underscored Bahrain's commitment to strengthening its international strategic partnerships to foster global peace, security, and prosperity, in line with its support for Gulf unity, Arab cooperation, and Islamic solidarity. He also highlighted the Kingdom's efforts to advance international coalitions for peace, counter extremism and terrorism, and enhance maritime and cyber security, while implementing the Comprehensive Security and Integrated Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA) with the United States and the United Kingdom, alongside other partnerships with other countries, the United Nations, and regional and international organisations.
Additionally, the Minister underscored that the success of the IISS Manama Dialogue 2025 demonstrates the diplomacy approach of the Kingdom, rooted in dialogue, openness, and partnership. He said it also embodies the Kingdom's active regional and global role under the leadership of His Majesty the King and with the support and follow-up of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He said the forum stands as a testament to Bahrain's status as a trusted international partner, a hub for coexistence and human understanding, and a global intellectual beacon for shaping diplomatic, political, and security consensus toward peace and stability.
