Foreign Minister Participates in Joint Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee Meeting on Gaza Developments

Ankara: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the meeting of the Ministerial Committee assigned by the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit regarding developments in the Gaza Strip.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was held at the invitation of Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Trkiye, and attended by the Foreign Ministers of several countries including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Trkiye, the Republic of Indonesia, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the State of Palestine, as well as the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, and the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the committee's ongoing efforts to engage with countries worldwide to restore a ceasefire agreement and ensure its full implementation. The aim is to end the war on Gaza, achieve de-escalation, and break the cycle of violence.

Efforts were also discussed to expedite the release of hostages and detainees and to facilitate the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian and relief aid across all areas of the Gaza Strip.

The ministers also discussed the efforts being undertaken by the Arab Republic of Egypt concerning the reconstruction and rehabilitation plan for Gaza, which was approved by the Arab Emergency Summit held in Cairo last March, along with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and the ongoing preparations to hold an international conference in Cairo.
