New york: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Ant³nio Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations, at the UN headquarters in New York on the occasion of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. Dr. Al Zayani conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Secretary General, along with their best wishes for his continued success in advancing international cooperation and achieving the goals of the United Nations in promoting peace, security, and development globally.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Secretary General relayed his greetings and appreciation to His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity. He expressed his appreciation for the existing cooperation between the UN and Bahrain in supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals.
The meeting also discussed the course of cooperation and means to further develop it in support of Bahrain’s efforts to achieve the objectives and principles of the United Nations, in addition to addressing matters of common interest.
Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States of America; Jamal Fares Al Ruwaiei, Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York; Khaled Yousef Al Jalahma, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs; and Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the meeting.
