Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a phone call with Hussein Al Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine. During the call, the two sides reviewed the close relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Palestine and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation across areas of mutual interest, in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and their peoples, and supports the Palestinian cause in international forums.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion also covered recent regional developments, including the ongoing Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. The implications of these actions for regional security, stability, and Arab national security were deliberated, with the Palestinian side expressing solidarity with Bahrain and supporting measures to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability.
The dialogue further explored avenues for joint cooperation and coordination during Bahrain's non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council. Additionally, preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of foreign ministers were part of the conversation.
