Foreign Minister of Bahrain and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister Convene to Bolster Bilateral Relations

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, held a meeting with Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, to discuss the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two nations.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting highlighted the longstanding and advanced relations between Bahrain and Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan. The ministers explored efforts to elevate cooperation across various levels within the framework of existing agreements and memoranda of understanding.

The dialogue included discussions on activating and expanding cooperation across sectors and improving coordination and consultation on regional and international matters of shared interest, particularly within international forums. In addition, Safadi was briefed on Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs' digital transformation, which encompasses systems and electronic services for citizens domestically and internationally. The platform for monitoring bilateral relations and tracking the implementation of projects and programs under signed agreements was also discussed.

The two ministers engaged in discussions regarding the latest regional developments, with a focus on establishing a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, securing the release of hostages and detainees, ensuring the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, and advancing efforts towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace. Views on other mutual interests were also exchanged.

A significant outcome of the meeting was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies (MBMA) and the Jordanian Foreign Ministry's Jordan Institute of Diplomacy. This agreement aims to advance cooperation in diplomatic training, research, and studies.
