Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Youssef Rajji, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the Republic of Lebanon, on the sidelines of the Arab-Western ministerial meeting on the situation in Syria.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani congratulated Rajji on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the new Lebanese government. He also extended his congratulations on the election of a new Lebanese President and the formation of the government, wishing Lebanon continued security, stability, growth, and prosperity.
The minister briefed his Lebanese counterpart on the key outcomes of the 33rd Arab Summit, hosted by Bahrain in May 2024, and the initiatives adopted during the summit. He highlighted the commitment of Arab states to achieving lasting peace in the region, strengthening Arab solidarity, and upholding human rights in areas such as life, health, education, knowledge, security, and stability.
On his part, Raji expressed his aspiration to further enhance cooperation across various sectors. He emphasised the importance of continued coordination and consultation on regional challenges.
The meeting reviewed the strong relations between Bahrain and Lebanon and explored means to further strengthen cooperation to serve mutual interests and goals. The ministers also exchanged views on regional developments and challenges and discussed efforts to de-escalate tensions and maintain security and stability in the region.
