New york: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Jean-No«l Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, on the sidelines of their participation in the meetings of the United Nations Security Council. The two ministers reviewed the strategic partnership between Bahrain and France, and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation across various sectors.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting also discussed recent regional developments and their implications for regional security and stability and international peace. They exchanged views on the repercussions of Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz on international navigation and the global economy, and highlighted opportunities for continued cooperation and coordination during their membership of the UN Security Council on regional and international issues on the Council's agenda.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowaie, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations; Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaleq Saeed, Chief of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Hatem Abdulhameed Hatem, Chief of the Organizations Sector; and members of the accompanying delegation.
