Foreign Minister Engages with US House Foreign Affairs Committee Members

Washington: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, recently held a meeting with Brian Mast, Chairman of the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Gregory Meeks, Ranking Member of the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs. The discussions highlighted the enduring Bahrain-US relations and explored avenues for enhanced cooperation across multiple sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was also attended by Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States. Both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership through existing agreements, notably the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), to promote mutual interests.

The dialogue extended to cover recent developments in the Middle East, focusing on collaborative Arab and international efforts aimed at conflict resolution and tension reduction. Key topics included the maintenance of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of hostages and detainees, and the broader objective of fostering security, peace, and stability in the region.
