Washington: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, recently engaged in a meeting with members of the United States House Appropriations Subcommittee on National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs, which included Representative Lois Frankel, the lead Democrat of the Subcommittee, alongside Representatives Mark Alford and John Moolenaar.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was also attended by Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States. The discussions highlighted the longstanding and strategic partnership between Bahrain and the United States, emphasizing the advanced level of cooperation across numerous sectors.
The dialogue aimed to explore ways to further enhance cooperation, particularly in the political, economic, investment, and security arenas. Additionally, both parties reviewed the latest regional developments, with a primary focus on the Middle East and its implications for regional security and stability.
Efforts to de-escalate tensions, prevent escalation, and resolve conflicts through dialogue and diplomatic measures were discussed. The goal is to ensure regional security and stability, advance reconstruction and recovery efforts, and foster a safe, stable, and prosperous environment for all peoples in the region.
