Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received the delegation visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain from the United States Congress at the ministry. The delegation comprised Senator Joni Ernst and Representative Debbie Schultz.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on the longstanding ties and close strategic partnership between Bahrain and the US, highlighting the progress achieved across various domains. Both sides explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in alignment with common interests and shared aspirations.
The discussions also covered current regional developments and the Arab and international efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive peace in the Middle East, as well as preserving regional security and stability. A number of issues of mutual interest were also addressed during the meeting.
The meeting saw the attendance of Khalid Yusuf Al Jalahma, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations; Steven C. Bondy, Ambassador of the US to Bahrain; and Salman Hassan Al Jalahma, Chief of the Americas Affairs.
