Manama: Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Yvette Cooper, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, during her visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to attend the 21st IISS Manama Dialogue 2025.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on the enduring and strategic partnership between Bahrain and the UK, exploring ways to enhance bilateral cooperation under the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA) involving Bahrain, the United States, and the UK. The discussions aimed at serving the mutual interests of both countries and their populations.
The dialogue also covered current regional and international developments, emphasizing efforts to improve security and stability in the region. Both parties stressed the importance of ongoing coordination and consultation on regional challenges of shared concern, as well as supporting initiatives to resolve regional conflicts and establish comprehensive peace.
The meeting was attended by notable figures including Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of Bahrain to the UK; Alastair Long, Ambassador of the UK to Bahrain; Ali Khalid Al Araifi, Head of Al Madar Centre; Shaikha Al Anood bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Acting Head of the European Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; along with the accompanying delegation of the Secretary.
